Fiercely Determined!

Last week I had a burst of hope and wrote a Facebook status line that got a lot of attention: "Claudia Mair Burney is fiercely determined, and sometimes I am just fierce." I made this collage as a visual to celebrate that sentiment. I wanted it to be the preface to the change of lifestyle I'm embracing. What do you think? It feels good to make visual art again, even though this is so so lowbrow. LOL

Good for you, girl. Creating art. Walking. Being fierce every step of the way.

I am listening to a sermon by a preacher I love - he is preaching on the story of the man whose eyes Jesus covered with dirt and spit. That man had to do something, had to go someplace, had to participate in his healing and transformation. It sounds like you are being called by God and sent by God to the places and activities you need to go to in order to be involved with your own healing.

Jesus could have said the word and he would have been healed. He could have touched him and healed him, but he sent that man to the pool of Siloam to wash. He went. He washed. He came up seeing. He once was blind- and then he could see.

You, my friend, have come up walking. And creating. And giving testimony to what God is doing in you.

This is beautiful, Sisi.
And I have no doubt that art will be part of your ongoing healing. You're fabulous words, but there are some truths too precious for even words.

there is nothing low brow about this art or you dear friend - mixed media is a beautiful art form and you should never be ashamed of your art. it's glorious - and you are one of the fiercest people i know.
