Good News!

Peace and all good, good people. I want to thank you for your prayers for my lovie. She's back home and sorting things out with her loved ones.

Praise God!

And I got more good news today. I found out my first novel, Murder, Mayhem, and a Fine Man was picked up by a big honkin' book club!

Yes lovies, turns out that somebody at Simon and Schuster is earning their keep!

The premier African American book club, Black Expressions, is going to feature the first of the Amanda Bell Brown Mysteries as their Featured selection alternate for February 2008. I can't tell you how exciting this is to me. The club gets a huge amount of exposure, and frankly, I never thought anything I wrote would make it in there.

We've got a lot to party about today, my friends. As the Mother of God said so beautifully in the Magnificat, "My soul doth magnify the Lord; and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my savior."

Rejoice with me.

Hooray on two accounts - for the news about your lovie, first and foremost, of course. And then for the big honkin' club selection news. Black Expressions made a terrific choice.

I'd start the party with my usual gift of deep-fried Twinkies, but my cardiologist doesn't need a new car and I'm trying to stay alive long enough to finish my own novel so how about I just bring...regular Twinkies.

Oh...and fried macaroni and cheese bites. Have you tried these? Jack-in-the-Box has 'em. So does Sonic, I think.

I'll bring some.

And maybe an apple.

Congratulations, Mair...you're on fire!

Amen and amen! So relieved to hear she's okay. And CONGRATS on the book club, girl!! That's huge! Are they letting you do anything to get involved, like write a note to be included with the books or anything?

Mair that is very exciting news, congratulations darling. I hope you celebrate by eating one of your peppermint lemons and reading your "book club worthy” novel. Be delightful in your success...thats sounds good, i might have to eat and read too... peace

I read this last night before going to bed and I was doing a wee little happy dance for you AND your lovie. God is so good. I'm happy for you and your great news and I'm so very, very glad that the lovie came home. I'll be continuing to pray for that situation.

Love and Praise-God Kisses,
Elysa

Girl! I just had to go and brag on you at my blog. And listen, when it gets closer to release time, I want to do a big feature on your book and your life okay? Do something really fun and splashy and definitely ragamuffin! I want those books FLYING off the shelves and I want to do my part to help.

And by the way...SPYWRITER...fried mac and cheese bites?! ReAlLy??? You'd think that Mississippi, deep fried fat capital of the world as it is, would be on the cutting edge of this dish but it ain't made it to our Sonics yet. BELIEVE me, when it does, I'm sure it will be HUGE! I don't think I want to even TELL my sons...but alas, they can now read so its hard to hide stuff from them. ;)

Waahooo on return of your Lovie AND for S&S DOING THEIR JOB!

Yes, ma'am, these are reasons enough to party :). I'll bring strawberry cream puffs and a pinot noir...cause I like 'em both and think you will, too.

Mair...so thrilled for you...so very thrilled :).
